Availability

The availability calendar gives you a band-wide view of who is available and when.

How it Works

The calendar is connected to your list of Band Members, and automatically shows your scheduled Gigs and Rehearsals. It provides a clear, color-coded monthly view of your band's schedule.

  • Click on any date to open the availability editor for that day.
  • In the editor, you can check off which members are unavailable and mark a member as Maybe / Tentative.
  • Use the "Mark entire band as unavailable" checkbox for a quick way to block off a date for everyone.

Substitute musicians don't appear on the band-wide availability calendar by default — they're only shown for rehearsals they've been specifically assigned to. See Members & Subs.

Calendar Indicators

Dates on the calendar are marked with colored dots for quick reference:

  • Gig Scheduled: A gig is scheduled on this day.
  • Rehearsal: A rehearsal is scheduled on this day.
  • Partially Unavailable: One or more members are unavailable.
  • Fully Unavailable: The entire band is marked as unavailable.
  • Tentative / Maybe: One or more members marked themselves as a "maybe" for this date.
  • Google Calendar Conflict: A connected member has a conflicting event on their personal Google Calendar.

Google Calendar Integration

Each band member can individually connect their own Google Calendar. This is optional, and entirely per-person — connecting (or disconnecting) your calendar never affects anyone else's.

Connecting your calendar

  1. Click "Connect Google Calendar" in the top-right of the Availability page.
  2. You'll be sent to Google to sign in and grant access. Bandleader requests permission to view your free/busy times and to create events for gigs and rehearsals.
  3. Once connected, you'll see a "Connected as ..." badge with your Google account email.

By connecting, you agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which explain exactly what calendar data is accessed and how it's used.

What it does

  • Conflict detection: If you have a busy event on your personal calendar that overlaps with a date on the band calendar, it's flagged with the "Google Calendar Conflict" indicator — a helpful nudge before you commit to a gig or rehearsal.
  • Automatic gig & rehearsal events: When a gig or rehearsal is created, edited, or deleted, a matching event is automatically created, updated, or removed on your connected Google Calendar — including the name, date/time, location, and notes.
  • Resolved conflicts: If a previously-flagged conflict on your calendar is later removed or moved, you'll see a prompt at the top of the page to mark yourself available again for that date.

Disconnecting

Click "Disconnect" next to your "Connected as ..." badge at any time. This revokes Bandleader's access and stops all calendar syncing for your account; it does not delete any events already created on your calendar. You can also revoke access directly from your Google Account permissions page.
