Members & Subs

Manage your band's roster, roles, and the substitute musicians you call on when needed.

This page has two sections: your core band roster (the regular members of your band) and your substitutes (musicians who fill in occasionally and only need limited access).

Inviting Someone

  1. Click "Invite Member" (or "Add Substitute" for the subs list).
  2. Enter their name and email address, and choose an access level (see below).
  3. An invite email is sent with a link to join, valid for 7 days. You can also copy the invite link directly to share it yourself (e.g. via text message).
  4. While waiting for someone to accept, they appear under "Pending invites" with a clock icon. You can cancel a pending invite at any time.

Access Levels (Roles)

  • Owner: The person who created the band. Full access to everything, including billing/Stripe keys and deleting the band. There can only be one owner; this role cannot be assigned to others from this page.
  • Admin: Can manage gigs, songbooks, repertoire, members, and settings — essentially everything except the owner-only actions above.
  • Member: Can view gigs, songbooks, and the repertoire, set their own availability, and RSVP to rehearsals. Cannot edit gig configuration, songbooks, or band settings.
  • Substitute (Sub): View-only access, and not counted as part of the band roster. See Substitutes below for details.

An owner or admin can change anyone's role (except their own, and except the owner) using the menu next to their name in the roster.

Member Details

For each member, you can record an instrument / role label (e.g. "Lead Guitar", "Vocals + Keys") by clicking on it in the roster. This is for your internal reference and is not shown on the audience page.

Substitutes

Substitutes ("subs") are for musicians who occasionally fill in but aren't part of the regular band. They get a separate, more limited experience:

  • View-only access — subs can't edit gigs, songbooks, or settings.
  • Not counted in your "Band Members" total on the dashboard.
  • Excluded by default from the band-wide Availability calendar and from rehearsal attendance.
  • Only see what they're assigned to — a sub's dashboard, agenda, and Availability calendar only show gigs and rehearsals they've been specifically assigned to.

To bring a sub onto a specific gig or rehearsal, open that gig/rehearsal's edit dialog and assign them from the substitute picker — this is what makes it appear on their dashboard.

Removing Someone

Use the menu next to a member's or sub's name to remove them from the band. This revokes their access immediately; it does not delete their personal account, only their membership in this band.
