Songbooks

While your Repertoire is the master catalog of every song you know, a songbook is a specific subset of that catalog, arranged for a purpose — for example a "Full Repertoire" book with everything, a "Karaoke Hits" book for karaoke nights, or a "Jazz Standards" book for quieter gigs.

Songbooks are then assigned to Gigs to power Song Requests and the Karaoke Queue. The same song can appear in multiple songbooks — its title, artist, tags, and custom properties always come from the shared repertoire entry, so updating a song in one place updates it everywhere.

Managing Songbooks

From the main Songbooks page, you can:

• Create Songbook: Add a new, empty songbook.
• View: Click a songbook to manage the songs within it.
• Rename: Change the songbook's name.
• Duplicate: Create a copy of a songbook with the same songs (referencing the same repertoire entries — no song data is duplicated).
• Delete: Remove the songbook. This does not delete the underlying songs from your Repertoire — they remain available for other songbooks.

Adding Songs to a Songbook

Open a songbook and click "Add Song":

• Search your repertoire: Start typing a title or artist to find an existing song from your catalog and add it to this songbook with one click — no duplicate data is created.
• Create new: If the song isn't in your repertoire yet, use "Create new" to fill in its title, artist, tags, and custom properties. This adds it to your repertoire and this songbook in one step, so it's immediately available to add to other songbooks later.

You can also use "Import CSV" to bulk-add songs to this songbook. Required columns: title (or song title) and artist. Optional columns: group (matches a group by name or 1-based index), tags (comma-separated). If a song with a matching title/artist already exists in your repertoire, it's reused (and updated) rather than duplicated. Use "Export CSV" to download the current songbook, including pricing and group assignments.

Per-Songbook Display Overrides

Sometimes you want a song to appear differently in one songbook without changing its canonical name everywhere. From a song's edit menu within a songbook, the "In This Songbook" section lets you set:

• Display Title / Display Artist: Override how the song's name appears in this songbook only (e.g. "Wonderwall (Acoustic)" for an acoustic-set songbook, while the catalog and other songbooks still show "Wonderwall"). Leave blank to use the catalog name.
• Group (Section): Which group this song belongs to within this songbook.
• Mark as "New": Sorts the song to the top of the audience page for this songbook and shows a "New" badge.

The "Song Details" section of the same dialog edits the canonical repertoire entry (title, artist, tags, custom properties) — changes here affect every songbook that uses this song.

Song Groups (Sections)

Use "Song Groups" (in the songbook's menu) to divide the song list itself into labeled sections that your audience sees as collapsible headers — for example "Open Mic (Easy)", "Dive Bar (Intermediate)", "First Ave (Hard)", "Stadium (Expert)", or simply "90s Hits" / "Slow Jams". Each song belongs to at most one group:

1. Click "Song Groups" to open the editor.
2. Click "Add Group" and name it, then drag groups with the grip handle to set their order.
3. From each song's menu, set its Group (Section) using the "In This Songbook" overrides.

• In the Karaoke view, groups appear as collapsible sections on the audience page, helping singers navigate large lists.
• In the Requests view, songs are shown in a flat list for maximum visibility, but groups still help you stay organized in the admin panel.

Deleting a group reassigns its songs to "No Group" — it doesn't delete the songs. To organize the band's own performance order for a gig (e.g. "Set 1" / "Set 2" with breaks), use a Setlist instead.

Tag Groups (Filter Categories)

While Song Groups organize the songs themselves, "Tag Groups" organize your tags into labeled filter categories that appear in the audience's "Filter Songs" panel — for example a "Decade" category containing the tags "00s", "90s", "Modern"; a "Vocal Range" category with "Low", "Mid", "High"; or a "Genre" category with "Alt", "Country", "Hip Hop", "Pop", "Rock". This only changes how filters are organized — it does not change how songs are listed or sectioned.

1. Click "Tag Groups" in the songbook's menu.
2. Click "Add Tag Group" and give it a category name (e.g. "Decade").
3. Check the tags that belong under that category. A tag can belong to more than one group.
4. Save — the audience's filter panel will now show your tags clustered under these category headers instead of as one long list.

Tags themselves are managed on the Repertoire page, since they're canonical to each song; Tag Groups are a per-songbook way of presenting those tags to your audience.

Pricing

From a song's menu, choose "Set Custom Prices" to set a request price and/or karaoke (individual / group) price for that song in this songbook. These prices override the gig's default prices, giving you granular, per-song control. Pricing is set per songbook — the same song can have different prices in different songbooks.

Bulk Actions

Select multiple songs (using the checkboxes in table view) to:

• Assign them all to a group at once.
• Add or remove a tag across all selected songs (this updates the shared repertoire entries).
• Mark/unmark them as "New".
• Remove them from this songbook.

To add a song to another songbook, open that songbook and use "Add Song" — search your repertoire for the song and add it with one click. Since both songbooks reference the same repertoire entry, no song data is duplicated.
